European Week of Sport 2025 takes place from 23 to 30 September and marks the 10th anniversary of this Europe-wide celebration of physical activity, community, and wellbeing. Her Moves is proud to support this year’s theme, Move More, Scroll Less, which encourages girls and young women across Ireland to discover fun and social ways to be active.

HER Outdoors Week is back this August, celebrating the outdoors and encouraging women and girls across Ireland to discover new ways to get active. Taking place from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th August, this nationwide initiative is led by Sport Ireland and offers a huge variety of outdoor events and activities, all designed to be fun, inclusive, and accessible to every level.

Badminton Ireland with the support of Her Moves, is excited to launch this year’s Teenage Girls Camps, designed specifically for girls aged 11 to 17.

The Girls Squad is a free TY programme that helps girls explore athletics, movement, and leadership in Irish schools. Created by Athletics Ireland and supported by Her Moves.

A fantastic workshop that is invaluable for any coach of teenage girls.

Visibility is one of the key Pillars outlined within Sport Ireland’s Policy on Women in Sport (WIS). WIS Week supports the policy's objectives and actions. First held in March 2021 and repeated every March since, WIS Week is a significant and successful week of celebration, promotion, and visibility of women’s sport and women in sport.

After a hugely successful pilot with schools and youth groups across Ulster in 2023, Table Tennis Ireland has expanded the initiative to the other three provinces of Ireland. Designed for girls aged 11-18, the programme combines the sport of table tennis with an artistic twist, aiming to promote physical activity, boost confidence, and foster friendships.

Her Moves Christmas Bingo Challenge Get ready to celebrate the countdown to Christmas with some festive fun and movement! We’ve created exciting challenges to bring joy, energy, and a little holiday magic into your life. Whether it’s trying something new, joining the latest TikTok trend, or sharing your favorite Christmas cracker joke, the Her Moves Christmas Bingo Challenge has something for everyone!

On October 26th, the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) hosted a vibrant and empowering day aimed at introducing teenage girls to a variety of wheelchair sports. Aoife Beggs and the team in IWA, set up the day to encourage teenage girls to try something new, connect with one and other and have fun!

Mayo Her Moves Surf Programme: #RidingtheWaves

On Friday, October 11th, we proudly launched our new campaign - “It’s Complicated”—with a special event at the National Basketball Arena. To celebrate, we welcomed over 150 teenage girls from six schools for an inspiring and action-packed day.

Join Sport Ireland for an enlightening workshop where they delve into the intricacies of girls' participation in sports and explore strategies to foster their engagement and retention.

In 2023 Cork Sports Partnership targeted a number of different avenues when it came to Teenage Girls and getting them active. They have coordinated a variety of taster sessions and events of nonmainstream sports in the hope to spark an interest among the cohort in something new they would have never thought of trying themselves.

In June this year Teen Connect hosted their annual National Event in association with Canoeing Ireland and Her Moves in Castlebar. We were delighted to have Hannah Craig from Canoeing Ireland tell us how Teen Connect came to fruition and how events like the National Event in June can have such a positive impact on teenage girls' lives.

This November Karate Ireland ran the 3rd event in their “In Conversation and Training With” series. The series was envisaged as part of O.N.A.K.A.I., a National Governing Body for Karate Ireland’s WIS Women in Karate Programme. See review below of the programme!s

The Her Moves Beach Tour kicked off in Bettystown, Co.Meath from July 24th-26th.The event was organised by Volleyball Ireland, Handball Ireland, Swim Ireland and Meath Local Sports Partnership and encouraged girls to break out of their comfort zones and try new sports. The Beach Tour has started as a hit!

On the July 11th 2023, the Her Moves team visited Birr, Offaly to be a part of the exciting pilot programme by the Camogie Association which combines camogie with a host of off-pitch activities and taster sessions including music, dance, leadership, and teamwork.

A teacher vs student soccer game was held on Thursday 11th of May as a fundraising event a Loretto Secondary School Bray past pupil. Aisling is battling with Sarcoma cancer, and despite everything Aisling has been through, she is conducting amazing work to raise awareness about her diagnosis through her Instagram and Facebook pages - @aislingssarcomajourney.

The Girls Try Kickboxing Programme is an exciting new 6-week programme in Bray. Led by the incredible Ann Hargaden, a qualified 4th degree Black Belt in kickboxing and self-defence, the course is designed to teach basic kickboxing and martial arts movements for self-defence.

Thursday, 20th April at Cleveragh Park, Sligo. Her Moves launched the Girls Active Festival in Sligo in partnership with Youth Sport West and HSE.

Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership hosted their first ever Active Girl Guide event on Thursday, February 16th, on the Bray Institute of Further Education (BIFE) campus.

Irish Wheelchair Association Sport hosts first Her Moves event in celebration of International Women’s Day.

On March 8th, hundreds gathered at the Sport Ireland Campus to launch the Her Moves campaign.
