5 simple tips to help improve your mental health through physical exercise and movement.

Exercise and physical activity can have a positive impact on mental health and can be especially beneficial for teenage girls. Here are 5 simple tips to help teenage girls improve their mental health through physical exercise and movement.

👩🏻🦱Psychological 🧠 and physical 💪🏽 health go hand-in-hand! 🤝 This Mental Health Awareness Week, let’s take a moment to be active 🏃♀️to promote health and wellness.

Exercise and physical activity can have a positive impact on mental health and can be especially beneficial for teenage girls. Here are 5 simple tips to help teenage girls improve their mental health through physical exercise and movement.

  1. Take a Walk: Taking a walk is a great way to get moving and clear your mind. Head to the local park or just take a stroll around the neighbourhood. Fresh air and sunshine can be great for your mental health and mood.
  2. Dance It Out: Turn up your favourite tunes and dance it out. Not only is it a great way to get your heart rate up, it’s also a lot of fun! Dancing can be a great way to relieve stress and anxiety.
  3. Take a Class: Check out your local clubs and programmes for classes. Taking a class can be a great way to meet new people and learn a new skill, check out the Her Moves HUB events page for some ideas of future events and programmes running.
  4. Get Outside: Get outside and explore. Grab a friend, take a hike or go for a bike ride. Being in nature can be calming and can help reduce stress and anxiety.
  5. Have Fun: Make sure to have fun and enjoy yourself. Try something new or rediscover an old favourite. It’s important to make time for yourself and to do something that you enjoy.
