Despite the classic Irish weather throwing a curveball on the day of the event in the form of a rainstorm, the game went ahead! On the cusp of the first half, the teachers managed to score the first goal of the game. However, within the first five minutes of the second half, the students got their goal to make the score seven again! The game ended with penalties, with the teachers coming out on top.

The atmosphere around the school soccer pitch was electric, with the school mascot even making an appearance for the occasion! Overall, the day was a huge success and the school raised €2500, and an extra €350 was raised by the school’s Drama and Mime clubs.

School activities like this are a great way for girls to have fun and get active! Girls learn that through the school’s sporting activities, they can develop physical skills, foster self-esteem, and confidence, develop social and team skills, and stay motivated and engaged in sport.
