WHY IS HER MOVES IMPORTANT TO YOU?

Her Moves holds a special place in my heart because it empowers young girls to participate in sports, encouraging them to get involved, communicate and make friends through physical activities. It provides girls in school with the opportunity to try new things and be more active, something I wish I had when I was in school. As a brand ambassador, it’s crucial for me to show younger girls that they can participate in sports without feeling embarrassed.

HOW HAS YOUR HER MOVES JOURNEY BEEN SO FAR?

Last year, we visited two schools in Balbriggan. I had the chance to share my honest opinions on entrepreneurship, family, and also introduced the girls to weightlifting. I gave them a brief introduction to the sport and even demonstrated some weightlifting techniques. It was an amazing day, and the girls truly enjoyed it.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS IN RELATION TO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY?

Absolutely! My advice is to try and join a local club, gym, or any sports activity that interests you. It’s not just about your physical health, but also about mental clarity, learning, and being open to making new friends. Embarking on a new fitness journey is fantastic, so don’t hesitate to try something new. Remember, it’s all about doing what makes you happy and taking care of yourself.

WHAT TIPS DO YOU HAVE FOR TEENAGE GIRLS WHO ARE THINKING OF STARTING THEIR FITNESS JOURNEY?

The first step is to ask yourself what you’re interested in and then reach out to a gym, club, or local sports organisation. Reaching out is the initial step, and once you overcome it, you can take five more steps towards achieving your fitness goal.

WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL GOALS FOR 2024?

Firstly, my personal goals for 2024 are to prioritise my happiness and be the best mother to my kids.

I also aim to bring home another medal at the European Championships, qualify for Paris, and even write my own book.

I want to embark on a new journey after weightlifting. While I’m not sure what it will be yet, I have a desire to start something new, possibly a new brand that empowers women. Who knows?! The specifics will come to me once the qualification process is over.
